Nemesis Launch

Police officers at the blessing and naming ceremony of the Marine Area Command's new flagship vessel, Nemesis, in Sydney, Tuesday, July 8, 2008.

Nemesis is the largest police ship in the Southern Hemisphere, and was used to lead the Pope's Boat-a-cade during World Youth Day activities.

The ceremony was attended by NSW Police Commisioner, Andrew Scipione, among other dignitaries including MP David Campbell and former Deputy Commissioner Nick Kaldas, head of the NSW Counter Terrorism and Special Tactics Command.
